This page explains, in general terms, where OddsBay’s numbers come from and what the labels on the site mean.

Where the odds come from

OddsBay receives sportsbook prices from a licensed sports odds data provider and compares about 50 sportsbooks and betting exchanges. Not every book prices every game, and books add and remove markets at different times. Prices are updated regularly, more often as a game gets closer and while it is being played. Every price is stored with the time we observed it, and the price at the sportsbook is always the one that counts.

Best Price and Best Line

Best Price is the highest payout we see for the exact same bet: the same game, market, side and line. Best Line is the most favorable number available for a side, such as the most points on an underdog. A sportsbook’s commercial relationship with OddsBay never changes these labels.

First observed, closing and line movement

First observed is the earliest price OddsBay recorded for a market, which is not necessarily the sportsbook’s official opening line. Closing is the last price we recorded before the game started. Line movement shows how the market changed between those points.

Sportsbook Rankings

The Sportsbook Rankings show how often each book offers the best price compared with other books for the same bets. They are based only on observed prices, not on reviews, bonuses or partnerships.

Live odds and results

During games we record live prices alongside the game clock, so you can see how the odds changed as the game unfolded. After a game is final, we record the official score and how the main markets were settled.

Corrections

We filter out prices that are clearly wrong, but no data feed is perfect. If you see a number that looks wrong, please tell us and we will check it.
